Plants for your Habitat
Quality Plants for central Victorian gardens
Welcome to Habitat Native Plant Co
Australia is an ancient place, where poor soils and extremes of weather are the normal conditions facing the majority of gardeners. In central Victoria this statement is especially true, with much of our soil being heavily compacted and in many cases, significantly disrupted by a long history of mining and agricultural. Furthermore, the region is subject to seasonal extremes, experiencing both baking summers and bitter winters. Despite the challenges, the establishment of a vibrant and, most importantly, resilient garden is still achievable through careful species selection.
We stock an extensive range of Australian native plants as well as a selection of their Gondwanan relatives from South Africa and South America. Many of these species are drought tolerant, frost resistant and highly adaptable, making them especially suited to our challenging garden environments.
Our Bendigo nursery also supplies plants and consulting services for revegetation projects, farm shelter belts, treatment plant dispersion beds, domestic and commercial landscaping, and school planting days.
